Mother and Daughter Crafting with Cherie

Hi everyone!  Here is my card I made using the Wax Paper Resist Technique on the background.  I think it really gives the look of animal print.  I just scrunched up a piece of wax paper for this look.  Please check out the video to see how I did this.  You can also use embossing folders to get so many different looks.  It is a bit like watercolor in that you never get two the same! First Christmas card for 2013!  I stamped everything with VersaMark and used White embossing powder.  I then colored the pointsettia with Stampin Up markers Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Summer Starfruit.  The dimensions are: Crumb cake:  Card base 5 1/2 x 8 scored at 4 1/4; 3 3/4 x 5 and 2 5/8 x 3 5/8. Whisper White:  4 x 5 1/4 and 2 7/8 x 3 7/8.  I used dimensionals on the Crumb Cake card stock.  This is cased from Ariane McC but I changed the stamp and colors. :-)

OK, time to play!  I have a couple of things going on here.  I saw this bow being made by France Martin.  So cute and I really like it on this card.  I also framed the sentiment instead of the flower.  Here is how I did it:         I stamped the flower in Crisp Cantaloupe and used the sponge dauber with Strawberry Slush all around the outside edges.  I used the blender pen to remove the ink from the stem and colored it using a Gumball Green marker.  I Then stamped the greeting in Early Espresso.  I used the oval Designer Frame to center the greeting, not the flower.  I used the bottom right one. Now for the bow:  Next I used two punches.  Extra Large Oval and Scallop Oval and cut one piece 4 x 3/4 and cut points on the end.  I actually used the Hexagon Punch, but you can use a scissors.  I cut both ovals in half.  I used my bone folder to curl the edges on all three cut outs. 

Watercolor Technique Sponging Technique Ok, finally I made a video of the cards I made using these techniques a couple of weeks ago. The first card I made (on top) was using the watercolor technique.  I used watercolor paper #122959 for our top note die, also for the black frame behind it.  I cut this in half to make a border of black on top and bottom.  I used the Extra Large Oval punch #119859 in black and the Scallop Oval Punch #119856 in So Saffron.  Added some Summer Starfruit ribbon #126846, I thought that matched the So Saffron paper pretty good.  All of this was on a So Saffron card stock that measured 4 1/2 x 11 - scored at 5 1/2.  That's it! The second card is using the sponging technique.  I used the following ink pads: Calypso Coral #126983 Pear Pizzazz #131180 So Saffron #126957 Soft Sky #131181  The card measurements are: Whisper White card base is 4 1/2 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 Basic Black card stock is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 Whisper White c

I saw some cards on display at a craft store a couple of years ago.  I was so impressed and I wanted to learn how to do it.  It looks hard but really is not, especially with Stampin Up framelits and coordinating stamps.  The stamp on the card I used is retired - sadly.  I did not realize this when I make this card and video, but we do have the stamp set Apothecary Art and the Label Framelit.  I kept thinking I needed something on this card (maybe some designer paper or embossing folder) but I did want to emphasize the Telescoping Technique. I used:  Crumb Cake 4 1/2 x 11 - scored at 5 1/2 Marina Mist 4 5/16 x 4 1/8 Used Adorning Accents Edgelits on the bottom of the Marina Mist and Corner punch on the top. Musical Notes Wheel for the background on the large heart with sponging using Crumb Cake ink to distress it. Distressed around the edges of the entire card using Crumb Cake. Wow, I'm so excited!  I saw this technique on Pinterest.  What a wonderful way to use painter tape!  All play and no work!  I use to look at painter's tape and think yuck, I have a whole room to paint; now I can say yea I get to play!  So here is my card: Wow right!  So easy and a lot of fun!  It's a masculine card too!  Let me show you how I did it: Here are the supplies I use: Inks:  Blushing Bride #131172. Finally, I got around to doing a video of two of the techniques I promised.  I will try and do the other two soon!  These techniques are fast and very easy!  You really cannot make mistakes on them.  If you need a card quick, this would be it!  These cards are for my grandchildren.  I think making cards say you mean a lot to me.  These three young people mean the world to me.  They all have birthdays coming up.   This young lady will be 9!  Wow, where does the time go.  She plays the piano (if you look close I used the DSP Natural Composition with the musical notes)  She is still my girly girl!  This is the backside of the cascade card. This card I saw on Pinterest but added the baseball.  My grandson saw me viewing this on Pinterest and said.  Hey look, grandma is looking at Minions!  We had just gone to see the latest movie.
