First Communion

Someone special, our Grandson Brody is going to take his first communion on Christmas Eve.  I wanted to make him a card especially for him.  I used a retired stamp, Crosses of Hope.  I am really happy the way it turned out.  Here are some pictures. And ...... up close and personal A handmade card for a special occasion! :-) The recipient of the card above.  Here is Brody with his sister Sydni after his First Communion!  Sydni took her first communion on Christmas Eve two years ago. Mom and Dad (Scott and Toni) joined Brody and Sydni for a great family picture.  Of course Grandma and Grandpa (Cherie and Terry) must join in too.  Next in our group picture are Uncle Scott, Aunt Anne Marie and our third grandchild Samuel.  :-) So proud of you Brody!  I love my family. Sydni says she wants to do a video.  The Rainbow loom is hot now.  I think we will try a video with our Sydni showing us how to use it.  Be back soon.

Mixing Glitter with Embossing Powder

Hi everyone!  Love this clean and simple Christmas card!  With this technique the glitter doesn't rub off because you heat it into the embossing powder.  First ink your stamp with VersaMark, stamp, and put white embossing powder on top.  Heat with heat gun, while the image is still warm pour your glitter on top and heat again with the heat gun. Mixing Glitter with Embossing Powder Measurements: Cherry Cobbler- 4 1/4" X 11", scored at 5 1/2" and folded in half Whisper White layer- 5 1/8" X 3 7/8" Cherry Cobbler layer- 5" X 3 3/4" Whisper White focal image layer- 4 5/8" X 3 3/8" Cherry Cobbler focal image layer- 4 1/2" X 3 ¼" Supplies: Stamp Set- Evergreen Ink- VersaMark Card Stock- Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White White embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds fine glitter Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Big Shot Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Adhesive Merry Chris

3rd Christmas card for 2013 - Sponging Technique with Illuminate

Four cards done and only ..... well quite a few to go.  This is a fast and easy card to make, especially if you have a lot of cards to make.  There is a shimmer on these cards because of the illuminate.  It is a soft shimmer more like a satin finish.  It is a little hard to catch on camera but is really pretty in person.        :-) This is what I used: Stamps :  Watercolor Winter (Retired) but you can use Joyful Christmas WM #131802 CM #131805; Tags 4 You and Label Bracket Punch Bundle ( save 15%) WM#133293 CM #133294; and Greetings Of The Season WM #128030 CM #128033. Paper :  Very Vanilla CS #101650 ( 5 1/4 x 4 and scrap piece) and Soft Suede CS #115318 (5 1/2 x 8 1/2 - scored at 4 1/4). Ink :  Illuminate Glimmer Pad #126857; Crushed Curry #131173; Tempting Turquoise #126952; Old Olive #126953 and Cherry Cobbler #126966. 2nd Christmas Card for 2013!

I love this card.  This is using the Sunbeam technique.  I have mixed shimmer paint to the Marina Mist sunbeams.  It really shimmers in person.  It is a little hard to get it on camera.  I will be doing a video soon, so hopefully you will see the shimmer on the video.  Sometimes simple is better.  I really don't think it needs anything else. The supplies I used: Stamps :  Lovely As A Tree WM #128655 CM #127793;  Gorgeous Grunge WM #130514 CM #130517 Ink :  Marina Mist Ink Refill #119787 and Always Artichoke #126972 Paper :  Whisper White #100730 and Always Artichoke #105119 Accessories :  Stampin Spritzer #126185, Frosted White Shimmer #116854 (clearance), Rhinestone #119246, Demensionals #104430 and Illuminate Glimmer Pad #126857. Emboss Resist and Sponging Techniques

A very simple and pretty card.  I used two techniques on the flowers; Emboss Resist & Sponging.  The picture really does not give it justice.  I sprayed Frost White Shimmer on the flowers and they really do shimmer! Supplies: Stamp :  Mixed Bunch - CM #125537 WM #128442 Ink :  VersaMark #102283, Raspberry Ripple Ink Pad #126859 Cardstock :  Whisper White CS #100730 (card base 11 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2 & 1 3/8 x 4 1/4) & Raspberry CS #126842 ( 1 5/8 x 4 1/4) Accessories :  Frost White Shimmer #116854 (on clearance), Heat Tool #129053, Sponge #101610, Blossom Punch #125603 & Spritzer #126185. White Wash Technique using Stampin Up! Swallowtail Stamp.

What a fun technique!  This works well with an outlined stamp, leaving room to do the white wash and later to fill in with color.  It is really fun, easy and fast.  You don't have to be an artist to have professional results!  My card size is standard 4 1/4 x 11 - scored at 5 1/2.  I used the honeycomb embossing folder for the background at 4 x 5 1/4.  Here are the supplies that I used: Stamp: Swallowtail WM#131943 CM #129216 Ink :  Daffodil Delight #126944, Cajun Craze #126965, Old Olive #126953 and Craft Whisper White #101731 Paper :  Basic Black #121045, Crumb Cake #120953 and Marina Mist #119682. Joseph's Coat Technique

This was a fun technique, but messy!  I used Stampin Up! stamp set 'Gently Falling' which is a two stamp stamp set.  Here are some pictures of the end result. This should come with a warning.  'Warning, very messy.  Messy, messy fingers!  May want to wear gloves.  lol  That is what my husband told me when I tried to get Elegant Eggplant off of my fingers and nails.  I used soap and water, our stamp cleaners, fingernail polish remover and goof off but I still had purple fingers and nails.  Finally I used Clorox and it came right off.  You just have to make sure and wash it off and put on some lotion because it can really dry out your skin.  I do have an alternative plan though, watch my video and find out! The Supplies I used are: Stamps :  Gently Falling CM #123804, WM #128430 Take Care CM #126312, WM #132088 Ink :  Old Olive #126953, Crushed Curry #131173, Cajun Craze #126965, Cherry Cobbler #126966, Elegant Eggplant #126969 and VersaMark #1022

Resist Embossing with Direct to Paper and Cracked Glass Technique

This is a win, win, win card for me!  Two techniques and a masculine card!  And I really like this card!  This card is cased from Julie Davison, another demonstrator, but I changed it up with the colors and added the technique Cracked Glass - which works so well with this stamp set Clockworks .  See for yourself. Can you see the cracked Glass on the stop watch?  I love, love this card and it isn't that hard to do. Supplies: Clockworks Stamp Set CM #127292  WM #131973 Ink :  Night of Navy #126970; Gumball Green #126861; Early Expresso #126974; VersaMark #102283 and Soft Suede #126978. Crayon Resist Technique

Ah, so much fun to color!  Bring out the child in you with this technique.  It is so fun to do!  My main tip is to choose colors that blend well together and make other pretty colors.  Such as this card is using blue and yellow which of course makes green.  Try to avoid colors that turn muddy looking. Supplies: Stamp Set - Mixed Bunch WM #128442 CM #125537 Paper :  Bermuda Bay   #131197   5 3/8 x 4 1/8 ; Glossy   5 1/8 x 3 7/8 ; Whisper White   100730    (card base)   8 1/2 x 11 - scored at 4 1/4 Ink :  Bermuda Bay #131171 ; Daffodil Delight #126944 ; Stazon Black #101406 Accessories :    Sponge Dauber #102892 ; Word Window Punch #119857 ; Modern Label Punch #119849 ; Blossom Punch #125603 ; Delicate Designs EF  #127023 Vintage Trinkets #118764 ; Large Pearl #125577 Now check this video out . . . . . . . . . . Braided Card Technique with Two Toned Flowers

Absolutely love how this card turned out!  So fun and it has a couple techniques that I show you in the video below.  I used Stampin Up! Summer Silhouettes stamp set.  I think this stamp set is a little bit of a sleeper.  It just kind of sneaked up on me and now I really like it! The supplies I used are: Stamp :           Summer Silhouettes  CM #126447 WM #132082 Paper :            Night of Navy #100867; Island Indigo #122923; Whisper White #100730 Ink :                 Island Indigo #126986; Night of Navy #126970; Pear Pizzazz #131180 and                             Sahara Sand #126976 Accessories :  Large Oval Punch #119859; Scallop Oval Punch #119856;                       Oval Framelit #129381 Sticky Strip #104294; Sponge Dauber #102892                       Pear Pizzazz Ribbon #131208 and Rhinestone Basic Jewels #119246 My card measurements:  card base - Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 - scored at 4 1/4

Cascading Mixed Bunch Card

I got this idea from another demonstrator but I used another stamp and punch.  I love my Mixed Bunch stamp set and coordinating blossom punch!  Below is another version: I just thought it needed that Raspberry Ripple card stock to pop the colors out.  Which one do you like?  Here are my steps to create my card: My base is Whisper White card stock cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.  I cut off 1 1/4" off of the front then embossed with the Honeycomb  EF.  I stamped three flowers on a 3" by 5 1/2" Whisper White card stock and what they call fancy cutting.  Which just means you cut by hand and not a punch. Next I glued my flowers from above on the front of my card.  I did not have to be too particular because I later punched out some more flowers, put dimensionals on it and placed them on top.  This particular stamp set has three different flower patterns to choose from, so you can either use all the same flower as I did or mix them up.  He

The Chronicles of Narnia

Ahhhh, The Chronicles of Narnia.  This is the theme of my nieces homecoming.  They are going to have a party before their dance and asked me to create an invitation.  So we all worked together to create this:  Open the door to Narnia . . . . . . . . . . . And who appears?  Aslan the lion I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit (#125595) for the top of the clothes closet.  Woodgrain Embossing Folders (#127821) for the doors and added panels that we scored to pop the top up.   For the Lion we used Zoo Review stamp set (WM #128769 CM #122199).  The background was a wash using the blender pen (#102845).  We used Pear Pizzazz(#131180) and Marina Mist (#126962).  We later inserted all the info for the party.  Time, place etc. I hope they have a wonderful homecoming.  Have a great party and dance Katie and Megan!

Faux Tile Technique

Love this technique.  So simple and fast!  It really looks like this was stamped on tile.  What do you think.  Please check the video below to see how I did it!  I used Thoughts & Prayers stamp set.  This is such a great stamp set.  So versatile!  You could use it with any greeting from Praying for you to Happy Birthday.    Clear-mount #127805 Wood-mount #128751   Thanks for stoppin by!  If you need any supplies just press the shop now button on the top right hand side of our site.
